Tucson Police Department Crime Lab Tour

November 1, 2012 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The TPB crime lab was one of the first municipal crime laboratories in the United States to gain national accreditation (1993) by the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors-Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD-LAB). The laboratory is a full-service forensic laboratory (except limited toxicology) organized into seven operational units: Forensic Biology (DNA), Comparative Analysis, Latent Prints, Chemical Analysis, Toxicology, Forensic Electronic Media, and Administrative Support. The Tucson Police Crime Laboratory tour gives participants the opportunity to see how a crime laboratory really works. The tour will take a brief look at Latent Prints, Firearms, Toxicology, DNA, Comparative Analysis, Computer Forensics and Chemical Analysis (drugs).
