Tucson, AZ (November 15, 2012) – Greater Tucson Leadership is proud to announce the honorees for the 2012 Man of the Year, 2012 Woman of the Year and 2012 Founders Award. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the awards program. The awardees will be honored at a gala on January 19, 2013 at Casino del Sol Resort & Conference Center.
The awards program honors a man and woman who have distinguished themselves for active support of community projects at personal sacrifice, for aiding those persons less fortunate and for living in a manner which inspires affection, respect and admiration.
The Founders Award cites individuals who have demonstrated significant long-term community involvement and accomplishments and who have helped shape the community in a quality, positive manner.
The mission of Greater Tucson Leadership is to inspire, develop and promote leadership, as well as identify leaders in the Tucson region. These three awardees are being recognized for outstanding leadership, distinguished contributions and dedication to improving the quality of life in our community.
Rick Myers, chair of the Arizona Board of Regents, has been selected as the 2012 Man of the Year.
Colleen Niccum, director of community and government relations at Raytheon Missile Systems, has been selected as the 2012 Woman of the Year.
Tom Chandler, co-founder of what is now Udall Law Firm, has been selected to receive the 2012 Founders Award.

A selection committee comprised of community leaders representing business, government, non-profit, higher education, the Greater Tucson Leadership board and Tucson Metro Chamber board made the award selections.
