In January 2020, Greater Tucson Leadership, in partnership with Mayor Jonathan Rothschild, will launch the inaugural Civic and Political Leadership Program. This 8-month-long, non-partisan program will benefit people who want to run for local office; be a valued campaign staffer for a candidate; run a successful ballot initiative; or learn about good governance from a variety of perspectives.
The program is looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience who want to stay in southern Arizona, and embody responsible leadership. Program participants will learn how local governments are structured and relate with one another; how to best run and win a campaign from start to finish; and best practices on governing and leading after taking office.
Applications are currently open for the Civic and Political Leadership Program, and the deadline to apply is Monday, September 23, 2019. The program begins Friday, January 10, 2020 and will continue every second Saturday of each month until August 2020.
Nonrefundable tuition is $750 and is due January 3, 2020. No scholarships are available for this program, but personal fundraising for the cost is acceptable.
Applicants will be notified by October 7th, 2019 if they have been accepted.
