Greater Tucson Leadership (GTL) Class of 2013 announces “Lead To Read – 100 Miles to Literacy”, an initiative created in the spirit of collaboration between the private and public sectors, designed to support Mayor Rothschild’s initiatives focusing on literacy and exercise. GTL’s “Lead to Read – 100 Miles for Literacy” is a 24-hour GTL team relay May 3-4 starting at TMC and looping through the UA mall overnight. The walk will raise awareness and funds for Literacy Connects, “Connecting people of all ages to a world of opportunities through literacy and creative expression”. Through their team effort to fund volunteers for Literacy Connects, GTL Class 2013 will help continue the positive chain reaction of promoting literacy in Southern Arizona and beyond.
Those wishing to support the effort may donate directly to Literacy Connects as part of GTL’s campaign. Donations may be made online at: literacyconnects.org and selecting “Greater Tucson Leadership” as the organization that encouraged this donation.
